Finalisation of the random brick patches, with lino prints of Nancy and the Arrow designs as stand-ins for what will be embroidery and applique in the final design. My note says 'graffiti on brickwork', which is essentially what I am trying to capture with incorporating multiple designs onto patchwork.
My conceptual designs will include the plain arrow as a motif, as well as a variant of it with the instructional phrases on it - the variant with the font will be machine embroidered letters, cut out and appliqued onto the arrow, which will then be applied itself to a garment, which I made a small sample of. I also included a lino print I did - a very hasty one, I made it so I could recreate it quickly - of the card instruction images. I also applied this to the actual shape of a credit card to be used. After the visual research I did into Margiela A/W 2017, I wanted to take inspiration from it and so I adopted the idea of the arrow shape but as a cutout, rather than a patch for applique.
